Recently, results published from the randomized, phase 3 BFORE trial in The Lancet reported that Bosutinib might be a more effective as the first-line therapy than imatinib for patients with newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). A total of 536 patients with newly diagnosed chronic-phase CML were enrolled and randomly assigned (1:1) in the study. The patients were assigned to a once-daily treatment with either 400 mg bosutinib or 400 mg imatinib.

A major molecular response (MMR) was considered as the primary endpoint.
