Case presentation A 54-year-old woman presented to the dermatologist with multiple hyperpigmented lesions throughout her body since puberty. The lesions were asymptomatic; however, they occasionally caused itching that worsened on a hot and humid day. Family history Many family members across different generations were known to have similar lesions, but none sought medical help. On analyzing the pedigree chart, it was discovered that such lesions were more common among the female members of the family.
Physical examination Neck, chest, abdomen, upper and lower extremities: Multiple, mottled, flat-topped, hyperpigmented lesions were observed. Face: Hyperpigmented macules were observed.
