Doctors at AIIMS Bhopal successfully repaired a heart valve leakage in an 18-year-old patient through a minimally invasive procedure, avoiding the need for open-heart surgery. The young patient consulted a cardiologist at AIIMS Bhopal after experiencing fatigue and shortness of breath. Upon examination, the cardiologist discovered that the leakage stemmed from the outer part of the patient’s heart valve — a rare condition typically treated through open-heart surgery. Before this, the patient had consulted several other doctors, all of whom had recommended valve replacement surgery.
