Case presentation A 23-year-old male football player presented with complaints of pain in the right groin, although he had no relevant medical history. The patient experienced sudden excruciating pain in the right groin twice after kicking the ball following strenuous training a year ago. He had swelling and soreness in the right adductor region after exercise. Physical examination The right pubic bone, where the adductor muscles originate, was uncomfortable to palpate, and a small gap in the tendon, just distal to the insertion, was also discovered. A hard mass about 7 cm long and 1 cm wide could be felt proximal to the gap.
