A 42-year-old woman presented with a complaint of chronic and severe insomnia disrupting her daytime activities. She is a single mother of three teenage kids. She experienced insomnia first eight years ago when her business failed. Despite the speedy recovery in her business a year later, her insomnia has remained unchanged. She was found to be healthy. Medication history The patient used to take temazepam, zolpidem, zaleplon along with several antidepressants such as trazodone, amitriptyline, and mirtazapine. None were successful.
Social life The patient feels exhausted handling her business and three kids singlehandedly. She does not indulge in her favorite hobbies anymore, including gym workouts and fly-fishing.
