Synopsis The American Diabetes Association recommends a target to maintain a blood glycaemic index of less than 7% for type 1 diabetes in children. This recommendation is achieved in less than 20% of the pediatric population, while the rest of the population fails to achieve it due to several factors. Conventional insulin pumps and continuous glucose measuring devices provide better outcomes but are associated with certain limitations. This highlights the need for an effective insulin control system.
