COVID-19 vaccines have been given emergency use authorization in numerous countries worldwide. However, most COVID-19 vaccination studies excluded individuals with active cancer; thus, evidence on the vaccines' safety, tolerability, and effectiveness in cancer patients are currently limited. Given the threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, decisions about the use of COVID-19 vaccinations in patients enrolled in clinical trials for testing the effectiveness of novel anticancer medicines must be made on priority. This article summarizes the guidance for COVID-19 vaccination recommendations for patients enrolled in cancer clinical trials.
