A bilateral blepharoplasty of upper eyelids with bilateral ptosis repair was performed on a 64-year-old woman. No abnormalities were observed in preoperative ophthalmological examinations. Visual acuity: Right eye 0.7 (20/30) and left eye 0.6 (20/35) Intraocular pressure (IOP): 18 mmHg (right eye) and 17 mmHg (left eye) Surgery details Performed under infiltrating 1% xylocaine and 1:200,000 adrenalin with sodium bicarbonate local anesthesia. Additionally, 0.04% topical oxybuprocaine drops were administered.
Every hour for 20 minutes upper eyelids were cooled postoperatively. On the same day, the patient was discharged with a prescription of 0.3% hypromellose drops and 2mg/g carbomer eye gel.
