Researchers from Cardiff University, London have discovered a new type of T-cell receptors that offer an exciting opportunity of “one-size-fits-all” cancer therapy. It can be beneficial over other cancer treatments. Cardiff researchers have discovered T-cells equipped with a new type of T-cell receptors (TCR), which recognizes and kills most human cancer cells while ignoring healthy cells. These T-cells have shown their inhibitory action against cancer cells of lung, skin, blood, colon, breast, bone, ovaries, kidney, and cervix. These TCRs recognize a molecule present on the surface of a wide range of cancer cells.
