The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ABC) raid at the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Nagpur has trapped two ophthalmologists for allegedly taking bribe from a patient. According to them, these doctors demanded ₹3000 from a patient’s relative for an injection. These accused doctors have been jailed. However, the local resident doctors stated that the money was demanded, as the injection was not available and was not a part of the rate contract. The doctors said that this injection costs 20-25K for 10 patients.

With this view a charge of ₹3000 was made to the patient. According to TOI the college council has now come in favor of these doctors and decide to support them by issuing a letter of honesty.
