HIstory A 58-year-old male comes to a dental office for a routine check-up. A brief evaluation reveals a non-healing ulceration of the lower lip. When asked about the ulcer, the patient tells that the ulcer had been persistent for more than six months. He neglected the ulcer as it was painless and caused no discomfort. The patient doesn’t drink or smoke. He is not on any medication. When interrogated about excessive sun exposure, the patient stated that he spends many hours outdoors and does not use sunblock.
The patient had a previous history of regular and routine dental care. At the time of the dental appointment, the patient was not taking medications of any kind. No significant problems were noted during the health history. Examination Physical examination of neck and head area shows no abnormal findings. The patient`s regular signs were within normal limits.
