An 82-year-old patient had been suffering from moderately painful, persistent, shallow ulceration in his right leg for the past three years. The ulcerations got recurrently infected and had to be treated with antibiotics and dressings. Skin grafting was not successful. The ulcer had a dry, pigmented, and scaly appearance. The patient was non-diabetic, appeared healthy, and had normal skin sensation.
