The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a fixed-dose combination (FDC) of aclidinium bromide 400 μg and formoterol fumarate 12 μg for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The dosage to be administered is twice daily via a traditional inhaler. Mode of Action: Aclidinium bromide It is a type of anticholinergic which acts as a long-acting muscarinic antagonist receptor (LAMA) used for long-term management of COPD. It binds with muscarinic receptors to relieve bronchospasm assisting in taking down COPD associated chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
