The US FDA has recently given an in-principle nod for combination drug of glecaprevir and pibrentasvir for treating pediatric patients in between the age of 12 to 17 years for all genotypes of Hepatitis C virus. The combination was previously approved to treat HCV in adults. The antiviral drug is a direct-acting drug which holds its action against the virus and by preventing its replication and thereby decreasing the viral load in the body.
