A 35-year-old woman had previously presented with symptoms of back pain and fever. She had no medical history and denied taking drugs, alcohol, or smoking. Her vital signs were as follows: Body temperature: 38.5 °C Blood pressure: 110/70 mmHg Heart rate: 110/min Respiratory rate: 12/min Her general systemic examinations and blood counts were normal. CRP was 43 mg/L and ESR 40 mm/h. MRI scans showed that the first and second lumbar vertebrae were consistent with spondylodiscitis.
She had a normal delivery six months ago and has a history of consumption of unpasteurized dairy products.
