Synopsis I n the human body, the most important weight-bearing bone in the lower limb is the “tibia”. The most common incidence of distal tibial metaphysis fractures and diaphysis are often due to road traffic accidents or sports injuries. The overall incidence of tibial fractures is 51.7 per 100,000 a year. The management of such fractures is distinct from other articular impaction type fractures and middle third diaphyseal injuries.
Till date, the optimal type of internal fixation for the treatment of a distal radius fracture is still under debate.
