Introduction Tourniquets are used during a total knee arthroplasty (TKA) procedure to enhance bone surfaces for better cement penetration. However, there are several safety concerns associated with tourniquets such as nerve palsy, delayed recovery of muscle power, wound complications, and venous thrombotic embolism.
