Glucocorticoids have been used as an adjuvant therapy for septic shock since a long time. Studies have found that glucocorticoid administration improves shock with no or minimal effect on mortality. The therapy also reduces the duration of mechanical ventilation and length of intensive care unit/hospital stay.
