A 47-year-old school teacher with two children was brought to the outpatient department with a 9-month history of heavy irregular periods. Her menstrual cycle was erratic and varied between 3 and 6 weeks, with periods lasting for 5-7 days. Before the onset of menstrual problems, her cycles were regular (every four weeks). Her recent cervical smear was negative, and she has no intermenstrual bleeding.
