High incidents of hemangioma occurrence have been observed in premature infants. Red patch on the skin which appears either at the time of  birth, or detected within the first 14 days after birth can be a sign of the  tumour . This article focuses on a benign tumour of infancy called Hemangioma. Hemangioma is also known as Benign Infantile Hemangioendothelioma, Juvenile Hemangioma or Strawberry Nevus. Hemangioma of Infancy is a benign growth of small blood vessels (capillaries) present either at birth (congenital onset), or happens right after birth (perinatal onset).

This benign vascular growth usually become bigger during the first year of life and slowly go away (spontaneous regression) as the baby gets older.
