Pt of GERD is asymtomatic with long term use of PPI ( Pentoprazole/Lanseprozole). How long these can be continued ? What are long term implcation ?

Is it better to use intermittent short term course (4-6 weeks) of PIP in such pts ? Pt have recurrence of symptoms on stopping treatment.
