Sjogren’s syndrome (SS) is a heterogeneous autoimmune disease, earlier known as "dry-eyes" or "dry-mouth" condition, in which the immune system attacks the glands that make tears and saliva. "Sjogren" is a German word, pronounced as ‘"show-grin." SS can be a concerning systemic disorder. Its extreme health-effects are usually seen due to a combination of dryness (of eyes, mouth, and skin), exhaustion, and pain. The involvement of multiple organs and cancer-related mortalities have also been reported.
