The Medical Council of India (MCI) has directly canceled 519 MBBS students’ admissions that are not based on their performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Out of 17 colleges, the highest number of violations has been found in Uttar Pradesh by 14 colleges giving direct admission to 481 students. While Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu have one college each with 38 students admitted in total.

While the medical colleges conflicting about slow counseling and filling-up process of admissions, the dismissed students claim they have been misguided by their colleges.
