Moebius syndrome is an extremely rare nonprogressive neurological disorder having a prevalence of 0.002% of births. It is caused due to underdevelopment or absence of nerves which control facial and eye movements and results into weakness and complete facial paralysis. This article focuses on causes, symptoms, and treatment of Moebius syndrome. Moebius syndrome is a rare congenital nonprogressive, developmental disorder, characterized by absence or underdevelopment of cranial nerves VI(Abducens) and VII (Facial).

The cranial nerve VI is involved in the control of the eye movement and cranial nerve VII is involved in the control of the facial movement.
