Constant lack of sufficient lubrication or moisture on the surface of the eye results in “dry eye syndrome”. The treatment options generally include eye drops as well as some devices and in severe cases, surgical options are available. A recent study has developed a new device which can treat dry eye syndrome efficiently. Healthy eyes are always covered with a tear film which remains stable between each blink.

This enables clear vision and prevents the eyes from becoming dry. Dry eyes generally result from an imbalance in the tear mixture or fast evaporation of tears or insufficient tear production which eventually affects eye health. Other factors like some drugs, eyelid problems and some environmental factors (pollution, phone screens etc.) can also result in dry eye syndrome.
