An inflammation of the vaginal tissue accounts for the number of visits to the hospitals. In a vaginitis based survey at Delhi in 2014, it was estimated that the highest prevalence was seen in an urban slum (38.6%) followed by rural (28.8%) and urban middle-class community (25.4%).
