The National Medical Commission of India has taken strict action against the state government-run Medical College, Medininagar, Jharkhand, for its inadequacies in teaching staff and infrastructure. The NMC has imposed a fine of Rs 12 lakh on the college as a penalty for this and decided to closely monitor the situation by scheduling a reassessment of the college's condition after two months, ensuring that medical colleges meet the necessary standards in terms of faculty and infrastructure to provide quality education and training to aspiring medical professionals. Despite the penalty, the NMC has approved medical college to admit students for the MBBS undergraduate course in the upcoming 2024-2025 academic session.
