World Tuberculosis Day is observed every year on 24th March to raise awareness and understanding of tuberculosis (TB), one of the world's prevalent infectious diseases, which has health, social, and economic consequences. Dr. Robert Koch discovered the bacteria that causes tuberculosis on 24 th March 1882, which paved the road for identifying and treating the condition. Despite TB being preventable and treatable, it kills about 4100 people per day and infects around 30,000.

Antimicrobial resistance is exacerbated by tuberculosis, which is the primary cause of mortality among HIV-positive patients. Treatment for TB seeks to cure the patients, prevent complications and mortality, minimize relapses, reduce the risk of transmission to susceptible individuals, and restrict the establishment and spread of drug-resistant strains.
