The parents of a 3-year-old girl from Cumbernauld, Scotland, took her to a hospital with a complaint of pain in the toddler’s face. Their GP suspected a viral throat infection and prescribed a throat spray. However, the symptom was resolved. In addition, the toddler developed persistent cold and diarrhea despite repeated visits to the hospital for the next three months. The frustrated mother took the toddler to Glasgow Children’s Hospital, where ENT specialists found a raisin stuck in the toddler’s nose.

The ENT specialists removed the raisin from her nasal passage within ten minutes. While praising the ENT specialists, the mother complained that the GP neglected her request to look for any blockage in the airways of her daughter.
