During their routine hospital rounds, doctors were surprised when one of the patient’s right-hand blood pressure was found to be normal whereas the left-hand blood pressure was very high. This anomaly was immediately reported to the specialist (cardiothoracic surgeon) who concluded that their 33-year old male patient with hypertension was afflicted with Type ‘A’ Aortic dissection disease. Type ‘A’ Aortic dissection (AD) is one of the rarest vascular disease occurring in 3 among 1 lakh people every year. The patient was rushed to the operation department and was put on a cardiopulmonary bypass machine.
