Case presentation A 69-year-old male undergoing right tibial tuberosity advancement (RTTA) due to necrotizing fasciitis was admitted to the recovery unit three weeks after the amputation. The patient did not complain of phantom limb pain. Wound healing was progressing adequately with good skin integrity and stump length. Basic bed workouts to sustain a range of motion and strength were started in the acute care unit.
The patient got up daily to a wheelchair fitted with an amp board and had good family support.
