It is a well known fact that patients while purchasing medicines are in habit of seeking opinion of chemists on drugs prescribed by their doctors who may be general physician, specialists or super specialists. In one recent experience, a 63 years old male patient, retired teacher with multiple problems, old MI, pancreatitis and diabetes mellitus had pain in upper mid quadrant of abdomen, taken prescription of cardiologist, surgeon and medical specialist. While purchasing medicines, he asked opinion of chemist who said medications are appropriate and patient appeared to be more convinced.
How to react on such types of act of patients? It is really disappointing and miserable. What is your opinion and reaction?
