The most introspective Qs -Is it true that doctors don't charge other doctors or their immediate dependants like a wife, children? In majority cases, yes it is. But only for consultations, if it's a surgical procedure or some costly medicine they are prescribing that won't be for free. I'll give a few examples of the same.

My brother ophthalmologist never charges us his consultation fee or for the eye drops he prescribes but if he puts implants or devices; performs a procedure he might ask the cost of consumables.
