Although it was repetitively taught in our med school days to wear gloves whenever examining a patient for the safety of both patient and the physician, I have observed many of my colleagues to be abstained from wearing gloves while examining patients  and giving injections or vaccines, especially when the examination involves exposure to patients mouth, teeth, mucous membrane etc. I want to ask my fellow doctors, does a physician always need to wear gloves even when they are not performing any surgery?

Is there any guideline available for the use of Personal Protective Equipments (PPE) for doctors?
