Surgeons in a New Delhi hospital have successfully removed a 2 cm bullet from the lung of a 45-year-old farmer, who had been shot 16 years ago during a personal dispute in Kanpur. The bullet remained stuck in his left lung and dangerously close to the heart since 2008. The bullet caused no significant issues until the past year, when the patient began experiencing severe chest pain and coughing up blood. A CT scan revealed the bullet's location and a collapsed lung.

Despite consulting multiple specialists over the years, the risky location of the bullet had prevented surgery.
