Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer and affects patients at a rate of 30 per 100,000 in Mumbai to 33.4 per 100,000 in Delhi. Locally Advanced Breast Cancer (LABC) refers to large breast tumours (>5 cm) associated with either skin/chest wall involvement or with fixed axillary lymph nodes or spread to ipsilateral internal mammary or supraclavicular nodes. Epidemiology of LABC in India is around (30-35) %. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is the standard of care for locally advanced and inflammatory breast cancer.
Aim: Previous studies had shown that anthracycline-based chemotherapy is superior over CMF (cyclophosphamide, methotrexate and 5- fluorouracil) regimen.
