A total of 17 e-pharmacy holders received a warning letter from the USFDA. The letter addresses the unauthorized and misbranded sale of opioids on the internet as a violation of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. These include the unapproved and schedule H drugs. The warning was against adverse events of over-the-counter (OTC) opioid use, including life-threatening conditions like serious breathing problems, withdrawal symptoms, coma, and even death. Currently, customers can buy prescription medications from online pharmacies, including opioids, which may endanger their health.
The items may be false, tainted, defective, or otherwise dangerous as they are being advertised as genuine.
