Umbilical cord prolapse (UCP) and velamentous cord insertion (VCI) are critical and rare obstetric emergencies that require immediate management for positive fetal and pregnancy outcomes. The present article reports the case of a 37-week-pregnant woman with UCP, VCI, and a fetal vertex presentation, who successfully completed vaginal delivery at term. Case Presentation A 31-year-old pregnant woman at 37 weeks and 3 days of gestation presented to a hospital with regular labor pain and bloody show. She reported that she did not undergo any regular antepartum examination.

Her gynaecological history included gravida 6, para 4 , and abortion 1 . Upon admission, her vaginal examination showed a fully dilated cervix . Artificial rupture of the membrane ( AROM ) was performed after 30 mins, and subsequently, an overt prolapsed cord (measuring 10 cm in length) was palpated in the vagina.…
