A 60 years old diabetic woman has Urinary tract infection. Urine C/S report: susceptible agents include nitrofurantoin, amikacin, cefoperazone with sulbactam, piperacillin with tazobactam, imipenem, ertapenem, meropenem, cefepime, tigecycline.Intermediate susceptible amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Investigations:- S.creatinine 1.9mg%, B urea 21 mg% Past History:- Acute pyelonephritis five years back. Empirical Therapy based on previous reports started with faropenem 200 mg BD for three days.
Burning micturition relieved after 3rd dose but reappeared. Patient present conditions : Burning micturition and body aches, no fever. Patient is non cooperative for parenteral therapy. Kindly suggest suitable antibiotic.
