A 16-year-old girl with a history of asthma and anemia was presented to the emergency department with complaints of left-sided abdominal pain and multiple incidents of emesis and fever for three consecutive days. She was unable to intake both liquids and solids. She had been breathing very fast and appeared pale. History The girl had pneumonia when she was 13 years old and was suffering from mild intermittent asthma for three years and was treated with inhaled albuterol twice weekly.

A similar episode of abdominal pain resolved without treatment six months ago.
