An 81-year old man was admitted to the nephrology department for anorexia, weight loss, and acute on chronic renal failure. Medical history Atrophy of the left kidney Myocardial infarction 19 years ago, the patient was diagnosed with Follicular type non-Hodgkin lymphoma. For this, he had received CHVmP/BV chemotherapy. Six years ago, he was treated for prostate cancer, by androgen deprivation. The patient had a permanent, in situ suprapubic catheter which was changed every six weeks.
Examination On examination, the patient was found to have extensive supra and infra-diaphragmatic lymphadenopathy with encasement of the right ureter, along with hydronephrosis of the right kidney. Urgent nephrostomy was performed. The nephrostomy urine was normal colored.
