Physical examination Dry and crazed finger skin, lusterless, discolored, pigmented nail plate surface with irregular furrows. The proximal and lateral nail folds are erythematous, edematous, and mildly tender, and nail cuticles are absent. An image of the affected nail of the thumb is attached for your reference.
