History A 69-year-old male was admitted to the Emergency Department in a hospital. He was suffering from upper respiratory illness for the past three days. He presented with nasal discharge , sore throat , chills , and fever . On day 5 post-illness, he complained of weakness and paresthesia in both hands as well as feet. His gait was compromised and unsteady .
He reported that he had a previous medical history of spinal stenosis and chronic back pain . He was prescribed nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. He refuted any experience of recent mosquito bites and also denied any contact with horses or dead birds.
