The FDA has approved a new Artificial intelligence aided software which can detect wrist fractures. This software can detect fractures in the distal radius and can thereby speed up the diagnostic process. The software has been designed for use in multiple settings like emergency departments, primary care or speciality clinics. According to FDA, software is an “adjunct tool” to aid clinicians but not to replace their expert opinions. Clinical trials Approval was granted based on 2 clinical studies that included 1200 cases.
