Both perioperative and postoperative complications are associated with anesthetic techniques. By using correct technique and proper doses both these complications can usually be avoided. The current article emphasizes on the major and minor complications associated with the anesthetic techniques along with their management. Although, these complications do not directly affect vision, but they may significantly interfere with the intraoperative surgical view because of pooling of irrigating fluid causing it troublesome for surgeons. Management Vasoconstrictor soaked cotton buds and localised conjunctival cautery during sub-Tenon’s anaesthesia reduces the incidence and severity of sub-conjunctival haemorrhage.
