Medical history No history of failure to thrive No history of any developmental delay No history of acute pancreatitis Clinical investigation Blood samples were found to be highly lipemic to the extent that the samples caused analytic interference; observation of a creamy white lipid layer in a resting tube of blood ( Figure 1 ) No observation of xanthomata nor hepatosplenomegaly Dilated fundus examination revealed the following: Creamy milky white appearance of the retinal blood vessels Retinal background in both left ( Figure 2 ) and right ( Figure 3 ) eyes developed a diffuse milky hue.
