A 77-year-old woman presented to her periodontist with complaints of bleeding gums. She was assessed for chronic periodontitis, and a full, comprehensive radiographic and periodontal examination was done. The examination revealed moderate-to-advanced chronic periodontitis. Clinical signs included Gingival inflammation Periodontal pockets (5 mm or more) Calculus Bleeding upon probing Horizontal generalized bone loss (40–50%) Incision biopsy images have been provided (left buccal mucosa and 13/14 labial gingiva). Images from histopathological examination has also been provided.
