Case presentation: An 8-year-old was presented to the clinic due to hyperactivity, deteriorating school grades, and resistance. Family history: The boy’s parents had been divorced for the last three years. His mother had dysthymic syndrome, while his father displayed several antisocial attitudes. Additionally, his mother’s aunt had bipolar disorder. Investigations: The boy’s activity level during interviews was erratic, ranging from fidgety to nervous, hyperactive behavior.
Soft neurological symptoms were limited and age-appropriate. There were no symptoms of mood change, thinking illness, severe developmental, or neurological disorders. During school time, his teacher considered him to be hyperactive, but that was manageable. Hyperactive conduct started years ago, as stated by the mother.
