Following the strong protests from few states, the central government has finally agreed to review its previous decision of removing 50% reservation for government doctors in PG medical courses. This decision was taken after some states argued that the central government cannot intervene in their medical education policies. Also, some states are agitated because MCI has abolished their policies involving different quota and incentive marks in PG admissions for doctors who served in government hospitals. MCI’s new regulations provide only limited incentive marks and that too only to doctors who served in government hospitals in remote parts of the State.

I feel it is okay to give reservation in graduation level. But, why to give such reservations to government doctors in PG? I personally feel that it is a welcome move by government to remove the 50% reservation for govt doctors. What is…
