Along unclear picture regarding acceptance of DNB PG or PG Superspeciality Doctors for teaching purpose in Medical colleges has been cleared by newly elected Board of Governors of present MCI. Medical postgraduate degrees from top non-teaching hospitals having 500 or more beds will now be equal to MD/MS degrees from teaching institutions and hospitals like PGI, AIIMS and other state medical colleges. As there was an MCI’s June 5, 2017 notification on minimum qualifications for teachers in medical institutions regulations stood in the way as it prescribed one-year senior residency and three-year experience as a resident in a medical college for teaching positions.
